Is there any other chipset compatable to flash the phillips lite on besides VIA 6421?

Basically, my computer is new and it came with the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE chipset. Meaning I have 4 sata ports, 2 to spare on my motherboard. Since my system is a 32bit and auto updates all the drivers needed for flashing a Phillips Lite-On with Maximus USB Xtractor....I went ahead and tried completing the flash w/o the VIA 6421 PCI Card and my PC keeps freezing. I want to know, do i have to disable my current sata controller (if so where do i find it) delete the “viamraid.sys” or “vsmraid.sys" then reable it right be4 rebooting the PC as instructed for the VIA 6421?
