So I got a ticket today in NC.......is it worth going to court for?

Long story short I ped a very slow vehicle, and utilized the turn lane in order to do so. When I got pulled the officer could have written me a ticket for reckless driving and speeding, but he only wrote the ticket for improper ping. I can't read his chicken scratch on the ticket but it appears as if he wrote out the scenario on the ticket. I'm wondering if I can go to court and use a prayer for judgment on this, or the ticket he wrote is the smallest thing I'm gonna be able to get away with. I've used prayer for judgment before, but not in the past couple years. A co-worker also suggested a lawyer, but I've been burned using a lawyer before.
