Photography, have a question about one of my camera lenses?

It's just not as sharp as most Nikkor lenses. With any lens, but especially third-party lenses, you have to be really careful in your research to find out if it's sharp enough for your uses before you buy it. Sigma has some great lenses, but they also have some crappy ones.
